Tbilisi. Giorgi Margvelashvili, the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) coalition's presidential candidate, will launch his election campaign on Monday, August 12 - the coalition spokesperson told BLACK SEA PRESS reporter.

Tbilisi. Georgian President, Mikheil Saakashvili, says he disagrees with Georgian Premier Bidzina Ivanishvili's opinion regarding Georgia's responsibility for the developments in August 2008.

The migration of young people from Armenia contains serious threats and risks, a representative of the Armenian office of the UN Population Fund, Garik  Hayrapetyan, said at today's press-conference. He said that today chiefly lifefull and gifted young people in the best reproductive age live Armenia. This circumstance affects extremely negatively development of the country in general, he added. 

Armenia is working towards an Association Agreement with the EU, and last month almost concluded negotiations toward a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA). Azerbaijan suffered human losses after the Armenian frontline forces took retaliatory actions following the heavy fire at the villages in Tavush region, Armenia, throughout the past week. In the wake of extremely active breaches of ceasefire, the Azerbaijani party suffered 8 deaths, amid several wounded on the Armenian party, ArmInfo's sources said.  

The decision to increase the fee on higher education has led to a short picket in front of the Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia. Earlier today, activists picketed the Government building demanding abolition of the above decision and a meeting with the prime minister.

 Students gave gathered in front of the Government building protesting against the decision to increase fees on higher education.  

 Today, the maximum buying rates at commercial banks of Yerevan were 406,5 drams for 1 dollar, 540,5drams for 1 EUR and 12,3 drams for 1 Russian ruble. The minimum selling rates stood at 408 drams for 1 dollar, 544 drams for 1 EUR and 12,4 drams for 1 Russian ruble .                    

On August 9 the Armenian Court of Appeal proceeded with the discussion of the case of 4 activists of the opposition Armenian National Congress. Judge Yeva Darbinyan dismissed the motion on Tigran Arakelyan's release. Tigran Arakelyan claims that he was put under arrest groundlessly.  

On the 9th of August, First Deputy Minister of Defence of Armenia Mr. Davit Tonoyan met with International Committee of the Red Cross delegate in Armenia Ms.Dragana Rankovich and discussed issues regarding Hakob Gevorg Injighulyan who was found in the area of protection of Azerbaijani troops having lost his bearings on the terrain, the press service of the Armenian Defence Ministry reported.

The joint opposition candidate for Azeri president, Rustam Ibragimbekov, is totally against the "arms rattling" and the statements advocating annihilation of Armenians.

By Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan's decision, Tigran Barseghyan was appointed chief architect of Yerevan on August 8, the press service of the Yerevan Municipality told ArmInfo.  

Two activists of the "Let's pay 100 drams" movement detained by the Police, will stay in the police station for three hours. They will be fined for damaging of the public property and then freed, deputy chief of the Armenian police, Valeriy Osipyan, told journalists. 

To note, earlier activists disseminated a statement saying that four activists of the "Let's pay 100 drams" movement were detained and taken to central department of the Yerevan Police.

An activist, Tehmnine Enokyan, wrote at her Facebook page that "The Police have illegally detained Vahe Gevorkyan, Vahag Minasyan, Gor Arakelyan and Sevak Mamyan without any legal ground", - she said. 

She also added that these young men were detained after holding of a protest action against the paid parking. "In particular, they encircled with red paint all the territories of the paid parking and were detained in 15 minutes. We phoned Sevak to clarify the situation, but policemen took away his telephone and did not allow to continue the talk", - Enokyan said.

 Head of the Assembly of Armenians of Azerbaijan Grigory Ayvazyan, who earlier decided to run for president of Azerbaijan, intends to meet with the single opposition candidate for president of Azerbaijan Rustam Ibragimbekov in Moscow to discuss cooperation issues, Ayvazyan told media on 8 August.

 Georgia will suspend transit of the Russian gas to Armenia for a day period at 9:00am Yerevan time on 8 August due to repairs on the Red Bridge Station, ArmRusgasprom Company said.

 Chief Architect of Yerevan Narek Sargsyan has been dismissed, Artur Gevorgyan, Spokesperson of the Yerevan Municipality, told ArmInfo. "Sargsyan is no longer the chief architect", he said. 

 Areximbank -Gazprombank Group has received the permit of the Central Bank of Armenia to carry out international money transfers via Ria Money Transfer (USA). The press service of Areximbank-GPB Group has told ArmInfo that money is transferred to both the CIS and different foreign countries. The money is transferred in US dollars and euros.  

Further keeping of peace in the region depends on professionalism of Armenian servicemen, Defence Minister Seyran Ohanyan said at the solemn meeting dedicated to the beginning of a new academic stage in one of the border military units of Armenia's Armed Forces.
