The Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) is not going to impeach Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, PAP member Lyova Khachatryan told journalists on Tuesday.  

 Tigran Sargsyan's resignation from the position of Armenia's prime minister was not conditioned by any external factors, deputy director of the Caucasus Institute, political expert, Sergey Minasyan, said at today's press-conference. "The rumors being actively spread do not always reflect reality. I think that Tigran Sargsyan could not have problems with foreign partners", - Minasyan said. 

Guided by the 4th point of  the 55th clause of Armenia's Constitution, on 15 April President Serzh Sargsyan  appointed Acting Foreign Affairs Minister Edward Nalbandian as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.

 Maybe the four oppositional parties are able to settle some problems, but their union will hardly last long, says Sergey Minasyan, Deputy Head of the Caucasus Institute, told reporters, Tuesday.

 The fulfillment of the "road map" will allow elaborating an agreement on Armenia's accession to the Customs Union (CU), Common Economic Space, and finally the future Eurasian Economic Union, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Vasily Nebenzya says in his interview with Interfax when asked if the list of EurAsEC members will be enlarged.  

The appointment of Hovik Abrahamyan as Prime Minister of Armenia is intended to ease the political and social tension in the country rather than deepen the reforms, Gagik Makaryan, Head of the Republican Union of Employers of Armenia, told ArmInfo.

 The appointment of Hovik Abrahamyan as prime minister aims to tie Prosperous Armenia Party's (PAP) hand and foot, Deputy Head of Heritage Party Armen Martirosyan said at today's press conference.  

 Hovik Abrahamyan's candidacy at the position of Armenia's prime minister is compromising and acceptable for many political forces, a member of the parliament from the Heritage faction, former foreign minister of Armenia, Aleksandr Arzumanyan, said at today's press-conference.  

The appointment of Hovik Abrahamyan as prime minister meets the Armenian oligarchs' aspirations, Head of the Yerevan Press Club Boris Navasardyan said at a press conference on Monday.     

Hovik Abrahamyan, the newly appointed Prime Minister of Armenia, has already started forming the new Cabinet.   

The men which could be compromising for Serzh Sargsyan and Robert Kocharyan were discussed as candidates for prime minister, Secretary of the Heritage party, political expert, Stepan Safaryan, has written at his Facebook page. Among these men, Safaryan mentioned Seyran Ohanyan, Armen Gevorkyan, Vigen Sargsyan, Karen Karapetyan and Hovik Abrahamyan. 

One should draw no parallels between the developments in Crimea and the situations in Transnistria or Nagorno-Karabakh, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Vasily Nebenzya says in his interview with Interfax when asked if one should expect new developments in the Nagorno-Karabakh and Transnistrian peace processes following the Crimean events.

The Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) does not consider the issue of joining the ruling coalition, Tigran Urikhanyan, Armenian parliamentarian, Spokesman for the PAP, has told ArmInfo.  

At the meeting of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Executive Body, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said that after resignation of Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, he met and talked to each member of the RPA Executive Body separately and also had discussions with numerous members of the RPA Council and representatives of other political forces.  "Today I must say that Hovik Abrahamyan can really head the Government of Armenia to the best advantage due to his experience, his role in the RPA and administrative abilities", said the President.

The Republican Party of Armenia Executive Body and Council have presented Hovik Abrahamyan, Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly, as the nominee for the post of the prime minister.  The members of the RPA Executive Council have unanimously approved the nominee, according to Eduard Sharmazanov, Armenian National Assembly Vice Speaker, RPA Spokesperson.
