Iran warns US of military response

ArmInfo. Iran has threatened to strike Israel and American military installations in the event of a US military attack.

Israel and American military bases would be legitimate targets for Iran in the event of a US attack, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated while addressing lawmakers on Sunday, January 11. His words were quoted by Iranian state television.

"In the event of a US military strike, both Israel and US military and naval installations would be legitimate targets for us," Ghalibaf said.

The parliament speaker stated that the US and Israel are supporting opposition forces amid ongoing mass protests in the country.

He claimed that during the 12-day war, Iran's adversaries planned to use "domestic terrorists," but they failed.

"Now they have begun implementing this plan. We are fighting terrorists," Ghalibaf stated.

During his speech, some deputies chanted anti-American slogans.
