ArmInfo. The OSCE Minsk Group is engaged in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, but the issue is in the focus of attention of CSTO's top leadership. Valery Semerikov, Assistant Secretary General of CSTO, made such statement at a Roundtable "CSTO's Role in Strengthening Eurasian Security" in Yerevan on October 12.
"I think the Minsk Group co-chairs should engage in the issue. This issue is not within the scope of activities of CSTO. But it does not mean that the issue is not on agenda of our meetings. President Serzh Sargsyan and the foreign minister of Armenia voice the issue at every meeting i.e. the Nagorno Karabakh settlement is in the focus of the Organization's member-countries. In addition, CSTO has repeatedly adopted statements on the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement," CSTO Secretary General said.
At the same time, speaking of CSTO's better involvement into the given issue, Semerikov said the point 4 of the agreement signed by the member-states says that the Collective Security Council adopts such decision on the basis of application by a member-state.
