Civil disobedience actions have been held in Yerevan since Saturday. 
Groups of young people are picketing bus stops all over the city in protest of the decision of the municipal authorities to raise the public transport fare from 100 AMD to 150 AMD. 

The ruling regime sees that its treacherous rule is coming to an end and is applying new methods to snatch as much as possible from its people and country, the Preparliament opposition movement says in its comment on the recent rise in gas, electricity and public transport tariffs in Armenia.

Since early morning a group of public activists have been sticking leaflets against the rise in the public transport fare in Yerevan from 100 AMD to 150 AMD.

 Armenian NGOs continue protesting against the UN's plans to move its regional offices to Istanbul.

 The public transport fare prime cost does not exceed 80 AMD, Babken Pipoyan, Head of the Informed and Protected Consumer NGO, said at a press conference on Saturday.   

 A tense situation has been created near the Surb Sargis Church (Yerevan), which is the residence of Navasard Kchoyan, Head of the Ararat Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church. 

 "I welcome Heritage Leader Raffi Hovhannisyan's proposal to hold a roundtable with participation of all political forces, including the Republican Party of Armenia, to discuss the urgent problems of the country. The proposal shows that Raffi Hovannisian has woken up", RPA Faction Spokesperson Hovhannes Sahakyan said to ArmInfo. 

 On the invitation of Geoteam CJSC, several international banks and investment organizations have visited the Amulsar deposit in Armenia to familiarize themselves with the project and make a decision on investments. During his visit to the deposit, Terence S. Ortslan, representative of TSO & Associates (Canada) told journalists that the company has already invested in the Amulsar project and would continue involving new investors to increase the investments to 12 mln USD, or 5% of the project cost (250 mln USD for the construction period).   

The latest parade has shown the strength of the Azerbaijani army, Azeri President Ilham Aliyev said at the July 18 session of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Ailyev's statement that Armenia fears the Azerbaijani military strength demonstrated during the latest military parade is just nonsense, Armenian Defense Ministry Spokesperson Artsrun Hovhannisyan told ArmInfo's correspondent when commenting on Aliyev's speech in Azerbaijani Government.     

Armenia and Russia are concerned about the attempts to speculate on the Podolsk tragedy and to kindle moods that are contrary to the Russian-Armenian friendship, Russia's Foreign Ministry said following the Friday meeting of Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Grigory Karasin and Armenian Ambassador to Russia Oleg Yesayan.

By its last steps Russia is warning Armenia that it has gone too far in its association agreement negotiations with the European Union, member of the Karabakh Committee Ashot Manucharyan told journalists on Friday, when asked to comment on the rise in the Russian gas price for Armenia, the sale of Russian arms to Azerbaijan and the Hrachya Hovhannisyan case.

"Armenia assured Russia that it would not sign the agreement but is acting otherwise. Russia has repeatedly warned Armenia that in reality the EU is its enemy. On their way into Europe the Armenian authorities are ready to sell both Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh as there is nothing sacred to them. The association agreement will be fatal for our economy and security. Russia perfectly knows this and is doing its best to prevent Armenia from singing the agreement," Manucharyan said.

The Military Prosecutor's Office of Armenia is conducting a biased inquiry into the bloody incident near the house of ex governor of Syunik region Suren Khachatryan, says Hayk Alumyan, the lawyer of Artak Bugaghyan, the man who has been accused of attacking Khachatryan's house.

 "We are to blame for the housecoat put on the citizen of Armenia Hrachya Haroutyunyan in the Russian court, for the fact that we did not fight for our rights, for the fact that we failed fair elections, for the situation in the country that makes people leave the country. We should demand justice first in Armenia, then in Russia", said Raffi Hovannisian at a press conference on Friday, when commenting on the public discontent caused the by fact that Hrachya Haroutyunyan was dressed in a housecoat in the Moscow court. To note, on July 13 Harutyunyan's Kamaz drove into a bus with 64 passengers.  18 people were killed. On July 15 the Tver court of Moscow ruled that Harutyunyan should be in custody till Sept 13.  The Armenian may face seven years in jail if found guilty.

 Rostelecom has opened a sales and services center in Yerevan's Ajapnyak community.

 The ex-governor of Syunik region, Suren Khachatryan, has made a final decision to leave Armenia after the scandalous shootout in Goris. Iravunk newspaper says with reference to its own sources that Khachatryan is going to be domiciled in Lyon, France, where his son was studying.  

 A Cooperation Agreement was signed today on July 18th between "HayPost" and the State Revenue Committee of Armenia (RA SRC), according to which service points for taxpayers will be created at the renovated and modernized post offices of "HayPost", attended by the representatives of the SRC.
