Rostelecom has opened a sales and services center in Yerevan's Ajapnyak community.
While presenting the center, CEO of GNC-ALFA (Rostelecom's subsidiary) Hayk Faramazyan said that it was the tenth center in Armenia and the second one in Yerevan after Erebuni.
He said that Rostelecom continued making large investments in Armenia and expanding its presence in the country. The company already provides Internet and fixed telephony services and is shortly planning to launch new interactive services. "Due to our high quality and low costs, we are becoming quite popular in Armenia," Faramazyan said.
He said that Rostelecom's GPON service (Gigabit-capable Passive Optical Network) ensures high quality Internet – about 100 mb/s, while in Europe the average speed is 28-30 mb/s.
Till Oct 1 the company will provide the Night Acceleration service – an opportunity to use unlimited Internet at night.
Faramazyan said that by the end of this year the company will open at least three new sales and services centers in Yerevan. As of now the company has several thousands of consumers.
Rostelecom started up in Armenia in late 2012 through its subsidiary, GNC-ALFA (75%-1 shares). The company provides Internet and fixed telephony services and will shortly offer TV products. Its fiber network covers almost 80% of Armenia's territory and is connected with Iran and Georgia.
