In relation to the beating of civil activist and journalist Argishti Kiviryan, a criminal case has been instituted under Article 316 of the Armenian Criminal Code (violence against officials), the press service of the Police told ArmInfo. Several examinations will be conducted. Investigation is underway.   

 If some day a decision is adopted on exploitation of the railway from Russia to Armenia, no issues regarding the political and legal jurisdiction of the Abkhazian sector of the railway may be an object for speculations, Deputy Foreign Minister of Abkhazia, Irakliy Khintba, said  in an interview with the Russian "Kommersant".  
"We have not yet owned the needed econometric and other calculations so that to say about commercial expediency of the given project", - he said and added: "This Abkhazian railway is the property of our state, and there may be no other stance". 

The construction of the multi-storey building in Komitas Street has been suspended. Tigran Khzmalyan, well-known filmmaker, member of the Preparliament civil initiative, has told ArmInfo that on Monday morning the workers made an attempt to puddle concrete, however, they were given the goose by the local residents and eventually left the construction site. At the moment, the Preparliament activists are guarding the site. New forces will join them if necessary, Kzmalyan says.      

 Police is behind the attack on the activists picketing the Yerevan Municipality by a group of unknown, an activist Suren Sahakyan told media, Monday. He explained that the police do nothing to inquire into the incident.

 The Ombudsman's Office received numerous complaints in connection with the incident at the Komitas street on 24 August, the statement by Ombudsman Karen Andreasyan says.
