ArmInfo.  Members of the European Association of Judges (EAJ) visited the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex to the Victims of the Armenian Genocide.

ArmInfo.  There are several directions of the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. This was stated to journalists by the head of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Jeyhun Bayramov.

ArmInfo.  The Union of Journalists of Armenia (UJA) issued a statement in connection with the arrest of journalist Lilit Agekyan in Gyumri.. The UJA statement notes that Agekyan was detained late in the evening of May 8.

ArmInfo. The press service of the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan denied the information circulated in the media about "secret agreements" between the Armenian authorities and European pharmaceutical companies.

ArmInfo.  Former commander of the Artsakh Defense Army, Lieutenant General Mikael Arzumanyan, who joined the Artsakh Liberation War at the age of 16, has been serving a prison sentence for almost three years - this sentence is nothing more than political persecution, opposition MP Gegham Manukyan wrote on his Facebook account. 

ArmInfo.  On May 9, at approximately 10:20 p.m., units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces opened fire in the direction of the Khnatsakh settlement in Syunik Province, resulting in damage to the roof of a residential house, the  RA Ministry of Defense reports.     There were no reported casualties.  

ArmInfo. Deputy Minister of Health of Armenia, Artak Jumayan, and First Vice Mayor of Marseille, Michele Rubirola, reached an agreement to establish cooperation between medical institutions in both countries in the fields of maternal and reproductive health, public health, and emergency preparedness.

ArmInfo. The Azerbaijani side has shelled the border settlement of Khnatsakh in the Syunik region damaging the roof of a residential building, as stated by the press service of the Armenian Defense Ministry.

ArmInfo. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has left for the Russian Federation on a working visit.

ArmInfo. Criminal proceedings, including potential prosecution, cannot be ruled out in the case of abuses in the ANIF fund. This statement was made by Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Anna Vardapetyan in the National Assembly  on May 8.

ArmInfo.  Unfortunately, the National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia does not have intelligence data on the 1,160 missing persons in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, causing mistrust among their relatives. This was stated on May 8 at a press conference in Yerevan dedicated to  discussing the draft law "Who is considered "missing"? Long-awaited bill with shortcomings," by Artur  Sakunts, head of the Vanadzor office of the Helsinki Citizens'  Assembly (HCA). 

ArmInfo.  Secretary of the National Security Council of Armenia Armen Grigoryan will leave for the capital of India, New Delhi, on May 12 for a working visit.  As reported by the press service of the Security Council of Armenia,   Grigoryan will meet with National Security Advisor to Indian Prime  Minister Narendra Modi Ajit Doval. No other details were provided.

On the eve of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, Ambassador of Belarus Alexander Konyuk, along with diplomats from the Belarusian diplomatic mission and representatives from business circles in  Armenia, laid wreaths at the monument "They fought for the  Motherland, 1941-1945" in the village of Arinj, Kotayk region.  As  reported by the Embassy of Belarus in Armenia, the Embassy took the  initiative to carry out preliminary improvements to the area  surrounding the monument. 

ArmInfo.  Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was present at the farewell ceremony for former NAS President, Academician Radik Martirosyan at the National Academy of Sciences and honored his memory, as reported by the Prime Minister's press service. 

ArmInfo.  On the 80th anniversary of  Victory in Great Patriotic War, Vladimir Putin has sent congratulatory messages to the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan,  Uzbekistan, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Israel, as well as the peoples  of Georgia and Moldova.

ArmInfo.  Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan categorically disagrees with the claims of the government opponents that Armenia is sliding towards totalitarianism.  In a conversation with journalists on May 8, the speaker recalled that the country was ranked 34th place in the world ranking of freedom of expression. "Totalitarianism and  freedom of speech are incompatible, this cannot be," Simonyan noted.

ArmInfo. At Yerevan School N8, named after Pushkin, teachers and students are protesting against the dismissal of the institution's director, Natalya Stepanyan.  According to posts on Armenian social media, it became known that this morning  Stepanyan has been removed from her position as the  school's director. Both the teachers and students, along with parents  are opposed to this decision. The school has started collecting  signatures against this decision of the Ministry of Education,  Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia. The classes at the school   were cancelled today, and students have stated that they will not  return to school until Stepanyan is reinstated.
