ArmInfo. The Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia has initiated a criminal case against the late former director of the National Security Service (NSS) of the  Republic, Gorik Hakobyan, and four other agency employees regarding  the events of March 1, 2008.

ArmInfo.  According to a report on an alleged crime received by the RA Investigative Committee on June 5, 2026, Vardan Ghukasyan, head of the Gyumri community in  the Shirak region, acting in conspiracy with other individuals,  carried out preparatory actions in 2025 aimed at seizing power in the  Republic of Armenia by means not provided for by the Constitution.  However, due to circumstances beyond their control, they were unable  to carry out the crime. This was reported by the Investigative  Committee.

ArmInfo.  Armenian security forces are conducting searches at Armat Media. According to media reports, the media outlet is affiliated with the team of Strong  Armenia party leader Samvel Karapetyan and is owned by party member  Alik Aleksanyan.  According to editor Nelly Avetisyan, security  forces have seized computers and digital equipment from an Armenian  media outlet, effectively stripping the publication of its  operational archives.

ArmInfo.A decision has been made to detain former Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia Armen Ashotyan, Finance Minister Gagik  Khachatryan, his son Artyom Khachatryan, former Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan, former Rector of the Valery Brusov State University  Gayane Gasparyan, former Vice Rector Artur Avagyan, and former Deputy Director of the Yerevan Mall Harutyun Tadevosyan on charges of abuse  of office and money laundering in excess of 200 million drams. 

ArmInfo.  Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan has been placed under house arrest. This decision was made by the Court of Appeals, which partially granted a motion filed by defense attorney Hovhannes Khudoyan.

ArmInfo. As part of ongoing criminal proceedings initiated by the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, a criminal case has been launched against 37 individuals for assisting A.A. (Ed.: Alik Aleksanyan, a board  member of the "Strong Armenia" party) in financially inciting  numerous citizens to participate in rallies during 2025–2026, as well  as for large-scale money laundering. This was reported by the  Investigative Committee.

ArmInfo. Searches are being conducted at the ARF Dashnaktsutyun (ARF) office in Gyumri and the  apartments of "Armenia" bloc associates. This was reported on Facebook by Ishkhan Saghatelyan, a representative of the ARF Supreme Body and a member of the "Armenia" bloc.

ArmInfo. On May 27, 2026, Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan overturned the decisions of September 20, 1999, to terminate criminal prosecution against Arsen Khachatryan and Armen Khachatryan, the bodyguards of Artsrun Margaryan, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and National Security  of the Republic of Armenia. The decisions were overturned based on newly emerging circumstances and the findings of the Investigative  Committee.

ArmInfo. Two reports were received in connection with the incident that occurred in Masis on June 2, and a criminal case has been opened. This was reported by Kima Avdalyan, press secretary of the RA Investigative Committee.

ArmInfo. The Anti-Corruption Court of Armenia ruled at a hearing on June 2 to return the passport of a citizen of Armenia to Samvel Karapetyan, the leader of the "Strong Armenia" bloc, so that he could participate in the parliamentary elections on June 7.

ArmInfo.  During  a meeting with a group of editors from several media outlets, his Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians,  firmly asserted that the Armenian Apostolic Church (AAC) will not  permit external interference in its internal affairs.

ArmInfo.  On June 3, 150 workers from the Tashir garment factory were summoned to the Investigative Committee, as stated by Samvel Karapetyan, leader of the Strong Armenia party, outside the Yerevan courthouse on June 2. He was commenting on the detention of Strong Armenia party council  member Alik Aleksanyan, alongside other supporters of the political  party.  Karapetyan pointed out that those summoned are not factory  managers, but the tailors themselves.

ArmInfo.The Prosecutor General's Office announced on August 14, 2025, that Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Anna Vardapetyan overturned the January 30, 2020, decision to terminate the criminal prosecution against former Deputy Chief of Police Sasha Afyan. A public criminal  case was opened against Sasha Afyan, and the criminal trial materials, supported by the indictment, were submitted to court on  January 9, 2026, where the main hearings are currently underway.

ArmInfo. On May 20, 2026, the Prosecutor General's Office reported a number of violations uncovered during the privatization of the Araratcement plant.

ArmInfo. For the third day, Armenian security forces have been searching apartments rented by relatives and friends of Artsakh resident Mher Mirzoyan in connection with the well-known video featuring five masked individuals making threats against Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Artsakh lawyer Roman Yeritsyan reported this on his Facebook page.

ArmInfo.On June 1, 2026, as part of the criminal proceedings initiated in connection with the events that took place in Yerevan on March 1-2, 2008, the Prosecutor General opened a public criminal case against the commanders of the 4th Army Corps of the RA Armed Forces for the period from February 23 to March 1, 2008.

As a result of extensive procedural actions conducted during the preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated by the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, including numerous searches and  nearly two dozen interrogations, the identity of one of the individuals plotting the assassination of RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has been established.

ArmInfo. Narek Karapetyan, a member of the board of the "Strong Armenia" party, explained why the  documents of the leader of the "Strong Armenia" bloc, Samvel Karapetyan, contained the mark "FSB Information Center."

ArmInfo. Mother Armenia party board member Aregnaz Manukyan called law enforcement's attempts to prosecute her in the absurd case against Andranik Tevanyan, number two on the Prosperous Armenia electoral list, "utter madness."

ArmInfo. The legal team of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) intends to file a lawsuit against the Public Television of Armenia (PTA) for spreading slander and offensive statements against the party's leader, Gagik Tsarukyan. PAP spokesperson Iveta Tonoyan announced this at a press conference in  Yerevan on May 25.
