It is strange that during the discussion of the issue of the lifting of martial law, the position of the government is represented not by the Minister of Defense or the head of the General Staff of Armenia, but by the Deputy Minister of Health. To maintain the regime of martial law, very clear reasons are needed, legal or military justifications, which are not exist.
ArmInfo. Anahit Avanesyan, Deputy Minister of Health of Armenia, stated that the government is against the lifting of the martial law regime. Avanesyan stated this during an extraordinary session of the parliament. The Deputy Minister of Health said that martial law regime should not be lifted immediately, but in stages. "I want to assure that the country's leadership, in case of a delay, is ready to discuss an initiative to gradually eliminate the martial law regime," Avanesyan emphasized.
