


ArmInfo. Pierre-Yves Fux, Head of the Eurasian Division at the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, visited the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex to the Victims of the Armenian Genocide. Fux is in Yerevan to hold consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Switzerland. Fux was accompanied by Andrea Barbara Baumann, Ambassador of Switzerland to Armenia.
According to the press service of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute, the guests were greeted and escorted to the memorial complex by Hrachya Tashchyan, Acting Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute, The guests laid flowers at the eternal flame and honored the memory of the innocent martyrs with a minute of silence.
They also visited the Armenian Genocide Museum, where they viewed the permanent and temporary exhibitions. At the end of his visit, Pierre-Yves Fuchs made a note in the Memory Book of Honorable Quests.
The Swiss National Council (parliament) officially recognized the Armenian Genocide on December 16, 2003, adopting a resolution condemning the 1915massacres. Switzerland has also criminalized genocide denial, making it a criminal offense to publicly deny this historical fact.
