ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has launched open threats against Russian businessman Samvel Karapetyan, founder and leader of the Strong Armenia party. Karapetyan's political party responded swiftly. As a result, a verbal altercation erupted yesterday between Pashinyan and Narek Karapetyan, a member of the Strong Armenia political council and the businessman's nephew.
The verbal "duel" erupted after Samvel Karapetyan, who is under house arrest, issued a statement on April 7 calling the Armenian government's strategy of worsening relations with Russia a mistake and assuring that their political force would maintain good relations with all its allies after coming to power.
After this, Pashinyan went live on his social media and began threatening the businessman. "Samvel from Kaluga calls us a small group. Listen, did you see your powerful (in quotes) protest in front of the National Assembly today? Once we completely shut down your illegal money circulation system, there will only be three of you left: Samvel, Narek, and Karen. Oh, sorry, four, because you have two Karens," Pashinyan stated sarcastically.
Narek Karapetyan responded to these words. "Man in the hat, don't be afraid of Karapetyan, he won't do anything bad to you. When he comes out, he'll say a few words to you. Don't be afraid of Karapetyan," the businessman's nephew declared unequivocally.
In response, Pashinyan made the following statement live on air this morning: "Kaluga's Samvel, through his speakers, is calling on me not to be afraid! Well, how can I not be afraid? I'm afraid that by the end of the year, you'll turn from a billionaire into a homeless person!"
Narek Karapetyan's reaction was immediate. He stated that this is what happens when a "homeless person at heart" comes to power in a country. "This is what happens when a homeless person at heart becomes the prime minister of Armenia. Is such a speech appropriate for a country's prime minister?" the businessman's nephew asked.
