ArmInfo. Political forces in Armenia continue to express support for Russian businessman Samvel Karapetyan's "Strong Armenia" party in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
"Putting aside personal interests and guided by the interests of Armenia, the Heritage Party, led by Raffi Hovhannisyan, announced that it will not participate in the elections and calls on its supporters to support the "Strong Armenia with Samvel Karapetyan" alliance, as change in Armenia is only possible with Samvel Karapetyan," Narek Karapetyan, a member of the political council of the "Strong Armenia" party, wrote on his Facebook page. Marianna Kahramanyan, press secretary of the Strong Armenia party, noted that in just one day, four political forces-the Freedom, Stability, Heritage, and Liberal Democratic Union of Armenia (LDSA) parties-came out in support of Samvel Karapetyan's Strong Armenia party.
According to her, in the run-up to the country's parliamentary elections, opposition forces are consolidating around Samvel Karapetyan's political force in Armenia's domestic political landscape.
"All these political forces are unanimous in their opinion that the current government in Armenia, with its losing and apostate policies, has brought the country to the brink of ruin, and continues its path of submission, compromise, and betrayal, turning a false peace into a weapon against the Armenian people.
These political forces are confident that only Samvel Karapetyan can lead Armenia out of the crisis and lead the Armenian people to a strong future," the party press secretary concluded. As a reminder, on February 12, businessman Samvel Karapetyan, the leader of the Strong Armenia party, was unanimously elected as the prime ministerial candidate for the Strong Armenia party at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex. Parliamentary elections in Armenia are scheduled for June 7, 2026.
