


ArmInfo. The Israeli Knesset has passed a bill introducing the death penalty for Palestinians from the West Bank convicted on suspicion of terrorist activity.
"History is written! We promised - and we kept our word. The death penalty law for terrorists has been added to the statute book of the State of Israel," wrote Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir on his social media page.
According to media reports, Ben-Gvir leads the far-right Otzma Yehudit (Jewish Power) party, which submitted the bill to parliament. The bill passed with 62 votes in favor and 48 against.
Under the bill, adopted after about 12 hours of debate, Palestinians convicted by military courts of participating in terrorist attacks will be executed by hanging as the standard punishment.
