ArmInfo. The "Strong Armenia" party is a leading opposition force in Armenia, mobilizing a significant portion of society and enjoying its unconditional support. This fact is causing concern and embarrassment for the current Armenian authorities.
Marianna Kagramanyan, press secretary of the "Strong Armenia" party, made this statement in response to the Anti- Corruption Committee's report that representatives of their political movement intended to distribute election bribes.
"The only egregious and continuous unlawful action in the upcoming electoral process is the shameful, blatantly unlawful, nearly ten-month detention of our party leader Samvel Karapetyan," she added. Kagramanyan emphasized that "Strong Armenia" operates within the framework of the Constitution and the law. "The unsuccessful video and audio recordings, edited by law enforcement officials who have become tools of the authorities, serve as a prominent illustration. It is evident, that no one cares anymore, as everyone already knows that the current authorities persecute people for even a single word, and the presumption of innocence has become a forgotten value," the party representative added.
