Karekin II willing to participate in funeral of Ilia II: Metropolitan  Nikoloz Patriarchate

ArmInfo.Metropolitan Nikoloz Pachuashvili of the Akhalkalaki, Kumurdo, and Kari Diocese of the Georgian Orthodox Church has informed that the Georgian Patriarchate has extended an invitation to all clergy of the First  Hierarchy in the world to participate in the funeral of Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II, aliq.ge reports.

According to Metropolitan, Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II  wants to come to Georgia.  "I can't say who will come. We have  extended an invitation to all clergy of the First Hierarchy. As is  the rule and order. Not only  Orthodox churches  are contacting us.  For example, the Catholicos of All Armenians wants to come. They had  very close, historical relations. But there's serious unrest in  Armenia, and the Catholicos is not allowed to leave the country.  We've sent a special invitation, and if he's allowed, he'll come,"  Pachuashvili told TV Pirveli.

Recall,  today, at a government briefing, when questioned about   whether he thinks  Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II should  participate in the funeral ceremony of the Catholicos-Patriarch of  All Georgia, Pashinyan replied: "I do not consider Ktrich Nersisyan  (Karekin II) to be Catholicos of All Armenians."
