A land plot totaling 7,000 square meters, returned to the Republic of Armenia by a decision of the Anti-Corruption Court, has been transferred to the Ministry of Environment by a government decree to grant it to the ArmForest State Non-Profit Organization (SNCO) for an indefinite period. The decision was made at a cabinet meeting on March 19.
According to Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure David Khudatyan, the cadastral value of the property (approximate to the market value) is approximately 417 million drams.
In turn, Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan noted that five more land plots in the area near the TV tower had previously been transferred to the Ministry of Environment. "As of today, the Ministry of Environment has been assigned six land plots, totaling approximately 7.5 hectares, located in the area adjacent to the TV tower on G. Hovsepyan Street in Yerevan, with a total cadastral value of 3, 381,573,000 drams," Vardapetyan noted.
Anna Vardapetyan also touched upon the issue of the return of property and funds to the Republic of Armenia in 2018-2025. "The Prosecutor's Office has analyzed the data on the return of property and funds to the ownership or possession of the Republic of Armenia and communities during 2018-2025 within the framework of criminal proceedings, cases resolved in court, claims and agreements to protect state and community interests, prosecutorial measures, and, since 2023, the application of tools for the confiscation of property of illegal origin. According to the data, during 2018-2025, about 291 billion 726 million drams (about 773 million dollars) worth of property and funds were returned to the ownership or possession of the Republic of Armenia and communities, with 65.8% or about 193 billion drams (about 504 million dollars) returned in 2023-2025," the Prosecutor General stated.
