
ArmInfo. During his working visit to Montenegro, Armenian Ambassador Ashot Hovakimyan held talks with several government officials.
According to the Armenian Embassy in the Czech Republic, Hovakimyan met with State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Peris Kastratovic and State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Innovation Tatjana Calasan, as well as with Foreign Policy Advisor to the President Irena Preljevic, Foreign Policy Advisor to the Prime Minister Milica Perisic, Director General of the Main Directorate for Consular Affairs and Cooperation with Compatriots of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ivana Dukanovic, Director General of the Main Directorate for International Legal Affairs Ivana Sikmanovic, and Director General for Innovation and Intellectual Specialization of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Innovation Savica Vujcic.
The parties discussed a broad agenda of bilateral relations, including Montenegro's participation in the 8th European Political Community Summit and the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), both of which will be held in Armenia this year. They also discussed the schedule of high-level bilateral visits and political consultations. The legal framework was clarified, and consular and migration issues were discussed in detail.
The importance of expanding the partnership between Armenia and the EU and making the best use of emerging opportunities was emphasized, and Montenegro's EU accession process was viewed as a key milestone for further deepening the partnership between Armenia and the EU.
Hovakimyan briefed the parties on the current regional situation, including the positive dynamics occurring in the South Caucasus following the Washington Accords. The parties also touched upon the situation in the Middle East. The Ministry of Education, Science, and Innovation discussed the procedure for signing an intergovernmental agreement between the governments of the Republic of Armenia and Montenegro on cooperation in education, science, and innovation, as well as on cooperation in creative education, innovation, and startups.
