ArmInfo. Iran does not accept a ceasefire, but if there is an idea for a final end to the war, Tehran will consider it. The Iranian Foreign Minister stated this in an interview with Al Jazeera.
"We don't believe in a ceasefire, we believe in the end of the war; the end of the war means the end of the war on all fronts. This is beneficial for regional peace, to resolve the issue of war in the region once and for all and to see peace throughout the region - in Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq, Iran, and other countries in the region. I believe that peace in the region must be comprehensive, precise, and encompass all countries," he said, according to Pars Today. He emphasized that Iran does not accept a ceasefire, but if there is an idea for a final end to the war, they are ready to consider it.
"There are many friendly countries that are proposing their initiatives and declaring their readiness to play a role in establishing peace. We thank all friends who are making efforts in this direction. Our position is the same as what I have stated here, and we have conveyed it to our friends. We do not accept a ceasefire, but if there is an idea for ending the war that satisfies our conditions, so that the war ends definitively throughout the region and the damage inflicted on Iran is compensated, we will certainly listen and consider such ideas," the Iranian diplomat said.
As a reminder, on the morning of February 28, the US and Israel attacked Iran. In retaliation, Iran launched strikes against US bases in the Middle East. As a result of the US-Israeli aggression, Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and several high-ranking Iranian military officials were killed. On March 8, Iran's Assembly of Experts elected Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of the late Ayatollah Ali Seyyed Khamenei, as the new Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
