ArmInfo. Armenian authorities are closely monitoring the situation in and around Iran. This was stated by Artur Hovhannisyan, secretary of the ruling Civil Contract party faction, at a briefing on March 6.
According to him, developments on Armenia's borders with Iran are immediately communicated to the relevant agencies. Hovhannisyan recalled that a regular meeting of the Security Council had been held the previous day, where all possible scenarios for developments around Iran were discussed, including the potential risks for Armenia.
The MP noted that all programs with Iran, for which signed documents and agreements exist, continue to be implemented. They do not in any way affect the agreements between Armenia and the United States or Armenia and Azerbaijan.
In turn, Arman Yeghoyan, Chairman of the European Integration Commission, pointed to the established peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. He noted that today the country is an island of peace, which has been achieved thanks to the balanced policies of the authorities. "Our calculations and our steps, the established relations, from the United States to Russia and the states of the region, show that, under all possible scenarios, the best possible outcome is currently being achieved for the country," the parliamentarian said, calling on journalists to evaluate this.
