ArmInfo. The Civil Contract party is closely monitoring the data from various opinion polls related to the upcoming parliamentary elections. This was stated by Artur Hovhannisyan, secretary of the Civil Contract faction, at a briefing in the National Assembly on March 6.
According to him, the ruling faction's election outlook is more or less predictable, but the authenticity of these polls will be revealed on the morning of June 8.
In turn, Arman Yeghoyan, chairman of the NA Committee on European Integration, emphasized that, according to the latest public opinion poll following the June 7 parliamentary elections, the ruling party will secure a majority in the NA. Moreover, it will be more than a simple majority, since the question of three- fifths of the mandates in the new NA, two-thirds, and 50+1, which naturally implies different results, is at stake.
Yeghoyan noted that the survey data inspires a certain optimism and confidence in the ruling party, especially since the election campaign hasn't yet begun. "We haven't said everything yet," the parliamentarian emphasized.
He added that voices are increasingly being heard in the opposition about a supposedly significant drop in Civil Contract's ratings, that they are very low and there will be problems with forming a government, etc. There's even talk of a "Gyumri 2" scenario, but the latest survey results suggest otherwise. Yeghoyan noted that it's already possible to talk about the ruling party securing a constitutional majority; the survey only confirms its representatives' confidence. One of the party's main achievements is the establishment of peace, which has become a reality, and to protect it, a strong and reliable citizen voice is needed.
