ArmInfo. For better or worse, Armenia is not currently at the point where the Russian military base blocks its "field of vision," as stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a press-briefing on March 5, in response to journalists' questions about how can Armenia realistically pivot toward Europe if the closure of the Russian military base is not on the agenda.
If the situation develops in this way, the Armenian side, according to the prime minister, will consider how to proceed to avoid issues with its "field of vision." He emphasized that Armenia has never had, does not have, and will not have any intention of worsening relations with Russia and undermining Russia's interests. "We have always been and will continue to be guided by the interests of Armenia," Pashinyan said.
Recall, during a meeting at the Polish Institute of International Affairs, Nikol Pashinyan, in response to a question about whether Yerevan would approach Moscow regarding the closure of the Russian military base in Gyumri, stated that Armenia has no plans or concerns related to the presence of the 102nd Russian military base in Armenia. "We have no plans, programs, or concerns related to the presence of the Russian military base. We are close partners of Russia, and we have very close economic and political ties," the Armenian prime minister said.
