ArmInfo.Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mojtaba Demirchilu has been summoned to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs following the downing of an Iranian drone in Nakhichevan.
Azerbaijani media reported, citing the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that a strong protest was lodged with the ambassador and a corresponding note of protest will be delivered. The Iranian diplomat was also informed that Azerbaijan reserves the right to take appropriate retaliatory measures.
Earlier, Baku stated that drone attacks launched from Iranian territory injured two civilians at the Nakhichevan airport.
It is noteworthy that Azerbaijani media previously reported that the Azerbaijani Armed Forces had been placed on combat alert due to military operations around Iran.
