


ArmInfo. According to all reports, the Israeli-American strikes on Tehran targeted Iranian leadership, including Ayatollah Khamenei and President Masoud Pezeshkian, but the latter are not in Tehran, as noted by Turkologist Varuzhan Geghamyan on his social media.
"At the same time, the New York Times recently reported that the Iranian leadership is also prepared for such a development: Supreme Leader Khamenei has already appointed four people to each of the top positions. According to American sources, Ali Larijani, the head of the Supreme National Security Council, plays a key role in these appointments," Geghamyan stated.
Earlier, it was reported that Israel, with US support, launched attacks on Iran, targeting government buildings in Tehran. According to unconfirmed reports, Iranian Army Commander-in-Chief Amir Khatami was killed in the Israeli strikes.
