ArmInfo. The Central Committee of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation "Dashanktsutyun" (ARF) of Greece refused to meet with Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan, who is visiting Athens.
The ARF statement emphasized that they are following Khachaturyan's official visit to Athens and reaffirm that the historical Armenian-Greek friendship and the development of multifaceted cooperation stem from the vital interests of both states and peoples.
"The deepening of high-level state relations is welcome; we expect this to contribute to regional stability and the well-being of peoples. At the same time, the events recorded in Armenia's internal affairs are deeply concerning. Actions against the Church are a cause for grave concern. The persecution of the clergy demonstrates the use of state leverage to undermine the Church's authority and weaken national unity. Under these circumstances, we consider it inappropriate to participate in the planned meetings with President Khachaturyan, rejecting this process," the ARF of Greece emphasized.
