ArmInfo. The Hayakve civic initiative will participate in the parliamentary elections scheduled for June 7, 2026, in Armenia as the "Voice of Armenia" party.
As reported by the initiative's press service on its Facebook page, the decision was made following the party congress, which also approved the new charter and political program, and elected its governing bodies. Commenting on the decision to participate in the parliamentary elections, Avetik Chalabyan, coordinator of the Hayakve initiative, noted that the initiative was initially created in April 2023 with the goal of advocating for Artsakh and seeking international recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
"Despite overwhelming citizen support, the current pro-Turkish administration rejected the bill we submitted to the National Assembly, attempting to permanently close the chapter of Artsakh (the bill criminalizing the recognition of Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan - ed.)," Chalabyan recalled.
Furthermore, as the initiative coordinator mentioned, in September 2024, Hayakve was reorganized into a national political association, taking on numerous issues related to national identity, democracy, human rights, and social justice. "The entire year of 2025 was spent in a fierce struggle, constantly on the front lines. The current government even passed a separate law hindering our consistent work. Now it's time to take the next step," Chalabyan added.
He said that by establishing the party, they have assumed direct political responsibility for a secure, free, and just future for the country. "I would like to thank all our partners, supporters, and admirers for their immense trust and support, which have allowed us to reach this milestone. We look forward to welcoming all our supporters who are willing to join us or support our great cause in various ways. In the upcoming days, we will start presenting our programs and the members of our political team and get ready for the upcoming crucial elections," Chalabyan concluded.
