ArmInfo. The CSTO is not leaving Armenia out of its allied cooperation and retains the opportunity for it to join all decisions developed within the organization. This was stated by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin.
"In the context of cooperation within the CSTO, the most important thing for us-and this has been repeatedly emphasized by Russian President Vladimir Putin-is that Yerevan remains a full member of the organization. We are not leaving Armenia out of its allied cooperation and retain the opportunity for it to join all decisions developed within the organization. At the same time, of course, we continue to closely monitor our partners' actions in relations with Westerners, including for compliance with their CSTO obligations," Galuzin emphasized in an interview with TASS.
As a reminder, Armenia has been boycotting CSTO events since the end of 2022. In February 2024, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan declared that Armenia had effectively frozen its participation in the CSTO, as the organization had failed to fulfill its obligations to Armenia, which would inevitably have consequences. And on September 18, 2024, at the Second World Armenian Summit, Pashinyan declared that the CSTO posed threats to Armenia's security, its continued existence, sovereignty, and statehood.
