ArmInfo. RA President Vahagn Khachaturyan's addresses to Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev were pathetic, as stated in a video address by Ishkhan Saghatelyan, member of the National Assembly from the opposition "Armenia" faction and representative of the Supreme Body of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun party.
According to him, at the Davos International Forum, "the so-called RA President expresses special gratitude to Aliyev for his demonstration of political will and his desire for peace." "I couldn't help but react to this pathetic and humiliating spectacle. Mr. Khachaturyan, what exactly are you thanking Aliyev for? Is it for the 5,000 victims or the 12,000 disabled? I want to understand: what are you so grateful to Aliyev for? Is it for the depopulation of Artsakh, or for depriving 150,000 Armenians of their homeland? Or perhaps for the occupation of 200 square kilometers of Armenian territory? After all, at what point do you say "enough is enough"? What is your motivation for serving Aliyev?" the opposition figure asked.
He added that all of this has one explanation: the current regime in Armenia is a protege of Baku and fully serves the interests of Azerbaijan and Turkey. "There is simply no other explanation. Otherwise, how can one explain the fact that the current regime in Armenia, at all international forums and meetings with foreign partners, presents Aliyev as a peacemaker striving for peace, constantly referring to Armenia and the Armenian people as an aggressor? Why is the regime so diligently washing Aliyev's blood-soaked hands, thereby legitimizing Azerbaijan's actions against Armenia and the Armenian people? The answer is clear: they have long been serving the interests of other countries," the opposition leader concluded.
