


ArmInfo. President Donald Trump said on Monday any country that does business with Iran will face a tariff rate of 25% on any trade with the U.S., as Washington weighs a response to the situation in Iran which is seeing its biggest anti-government protests in years.
"Effective immediately, any Country doing business with the Islamic Republic of Iran will pay a Tariff of 25% on any and all business being done with the United States of America," Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
US President Donald Trump is leaning toward airstrikes against Iran as punishment for the regime's killing of protesters, but this isn't his final decision, and other options are being considered.
White House Press Secretary Carolyn Levitt, meanwhile, stated that airstrikes are just one of many options Trump is considering regarding Iran, and that diplomacy is always his priority. "What you're hearing publicly from the Iranian regime is very different from the messages the administration is receiving privately. Trump is interested in studying those messages," she noted.
