ArmInfo. The Criminal Court of Appeals of Armenia, presided over by Judge Vache Margaryan, has rejected a motion to release Arshak Khachatryan, head of the chancery of the Mother See of Etchmiadzin. The ruling ensures that he will remain in custody. Lawyer Arsen Babayan announced this on his Facebook page.
The lawyer noted that the decision did not come as a surprise to him. "It's noteworthy that this wasn't unexpected, even under conditions where, upon reviewing the prosecutor's decision to initiate criminal prosecution, it becomes clear that no crime was committed. Even if the actions described in this decision had taken place in objective reality, then even under these circumstances, it's clear that no criminal act was committed," Babayan wrote.
