Iran`s policy in Caucasus aimed at maintaining peace - Iranian  diplomat 

ArmInfo. Iran's policy in the Caucasus region is aimed at maintaining peace and ensuring  respect for the territorial integrity of other states. This was  stated by Iranian Ambassador to Georgia Mahmoud Adeeb at a meeting  with Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on the occasion  of the completion of his mission in that country, Mehr reports.

It is noted that Papuashvili highly praised Mahmoud Adeeb's  contributions to developing Iranian-Georgian relations during his  mission in Georgia. "We are aware of your valuable efforts to  strengthen relations. We are glad that during the recent tensions in  the South Caucasus, you, as Iran's ambassador, managed relations  well," the Georgian Parliament Speaker said.

Papuashvili added that Georgia's policy in the region is aimed at  peace and stability in the region. "We hope that by establishing  security, the foundation for cooperation with Iran will be better  secured than ever before. The peoples of both countries share a rich  civilizational and cultural heritage, and this history holds enormous  potential for strengthening universal values. Unlike some countries,  the Iranians have proven their maturity, which is necessary to  overcome crises," he said.

In turn, the Iranian ambassador also praised the views of the Speaker  of the Georgian Parliament and described Iran's policy in the  Caucasus as aimed at maintaining peace and respecting territorial  integrity.  Adib noted the importance of parliaments in consolidating  interests and praised the abolition of the visa regime as a  manifestation of the will of both sides. He emphasized the importance  of developing parliamentary diplomacy and exchanging friendship  delegations and, citing Georgia's immigration legislation, called for  preserving the honor and dignity of Iranians in that country.
