ArmInfo. Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan announced this in an interview with the Public Television of Armenia in 2026.
Specifically, he announced that the mayor's office will purchase 45 12-meter trolleybuses, which are an important component of transportation reforms. "They will be in Yerevan in April-May," Avinyan said.
Furthermore, as part of the full implementation of transportation reforms, the city authorities plan to purchase 250 18-meter buses, renovate several depots, introduce new bus lines, equip bus stops with electronic signs displaying public transportation schedules, and more.
The mayor also touched on the construction of the new Ajapnyak metro station. Specifically, he announced that next year, projects that have passed the complex state review stage will be put out to tender under FIDIC contracts, which provide for phased implementation-with design refinements, land acquisition, and subsequent construction.
