According to the source, the medal was awarded for significant contributions to the preparation of events related to the Victory Day celebrations, memorial work, and the patriotic education of youth. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin presented the medal to the South Caucasus Railway staff on December 23, on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
During a ceremonial meeting with representatives of the South Caucasus Railway staff, the Ambassador thanked them for their contribution to the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory Day. The diplomat noted the active participation of the South Caucasus Railway in the annual celebration of Victory Day, a holiday of historical and humanitarian unity. This year, it was especially large-scale, noted Alexey Melnikov, CEO of South Caucasus Railway. He listed the company's events organized this year and noted the contributions of employees, veterans, and young people to the anniversary celebrations. "This is an appreciation of the efforts of our entire team, veterans, young people, and all employees who contributed to upholding the historical memory of our peoples and countries," Melnikov emphasized.
