ArmInfo. The sham trials of Armenians in Azerbaijani courts have entered their final stage, as noted by Tigran Abrahamyan, NA member from the opposition "With Honor" faction, on his Facebook page.
According to him, the prosecutors' demand for severe sentences was an expected development for everyone. "But, on the other hand, it's clear that the ongoing process is purely political, and the further course of events, regardless of the official verdicts, may take a different turn. Our compatriots, naturally, deny their guilt and have been trying to voice their opinions all this time, despite extremely limited opportunities. The Republic of Armenia has only made symbolic steps and statements, and much will depend on pressure from the international community and the will of individuals," Tigran Abrahamyan emphasized.
It should be noted that another "trial" of detained Armenians took place in Baku the previous day. Former Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan, former Foreign Minister David Babayan, and former Deputy Army Commander David Manukyan delivered their closing statements. They all denied the charges against them, stating that the prosecutors' arguments were baseless.
