ArmInfo. The RA Ministry of Internal Affairs once again urges Armenian citizens to be vigilant.
"Dear citizens, under any circumstances should you provide your passport or banking details to third parties. Also, do not share logins or passwords for your personal accounts registered on various online platforms, nor one-time codes received via SMS notifications. Sharing such personal information with others can lead it being used in the future by individuals involved in various criminal schemes. As a result, you may not only lose access to your e-wallets, bank accounts, and personal accounts, but also become a victim of financial theft. Data obtained by criminals can also be used to commit other crimes," the Ministry's statement reads.
At the same time, the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia reports that the department is conducting a preliminary investigation into a group of individuals who, through internet calls, embezzled large sums of money from the accounts of more than 1,500 individuals, primarily residing in European countries. During the preliminary investigation, in addition to 630 million drams of criminal origin, another 44 million drams were transferred to the state budget.
