


ArmInfo. The statement by Ali Akbar Velayati, Advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader on International Relations, clearly reflects Iran's stance regarding the "Trump Route" (TRIPP). Vardan Voskanyan, expert in Iranian studies, wrote on his Telegram channel, reacting to the statement made by Velayati during a meeting with Armenian Ambassador to Iran Grigor Hakobyan.
As previously reported by ArmInfo, during this meeting, Velayati stated that the so-called "Trump plan" for the Caucasus mirrors the so-called "Zangezur Corridor" project, and the Islamic Republic of Iran categorically opposes this initiative.
Voskanyan urged that this statement be taken very seriously. In this regard, he pointed out the significance of the person making it. The expert recalled that Velayati holds an extremely high position and plays a key role in shaping Iran's strategic guidelines. "It is under his leadership that the Iranian leader sets red lines and defines the framework within which the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and official diplomacy must operate," Voskanyan clarified.
In conclusion, the expert emphasized that Armenian-Iranian relations are of particular importance to Armenia in many respects. "Therefore, it is necessary to address Iran's concerns through direct and sincere dialogue," Voskanyan noted.
