Samvel Karapetyan publishes program article outlining his vision for  Armenia`s future

ArmInfo.Samvel Karapetyan, leader of the "In Our Way" movement and president of the Tashir Group of Companies, who is currently under arrest, has  published a program article on his Facebook page outlining his vision for Armenia's future. 

"In just a few days, 2025 will end, and we will enter a fateful year  for the history of Armenia and the Armenian people. It is clear that  the parliamentary elections to be held in June 2026 will have fateful  consequences for the future of our nation as a state. What this  future will be like will be decided by the citizens of the country  themselves. You know that this group and its leader offer their own  picture of this future, where there is only one main point: to retain  power at any cost through promises, by presenting a rosy picture. At  what cost should this happen and why should he remain for a third  term is unclear. For what achievements? There is no normal strategy  in any area, the country is mired in debt, poverty has deepened and  worsened, democracy is destroyed, society is extremely divided and  filled with hatred, the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church is under  threat, the Armenian Diaspora is isolated from the homeland, and this  sad list can be continued for a long time.

 I believe that it is more important to offer an alternative so that  our Citizens had a clear choice, and they were not left alone with  government propaganda. This is exactly what I want to do in this  short article: to offer a picture of the future based on my life,  good reputation, and accomplishments. It's quite simple; I can  present it in just 3-4 points. First and foremost, our people thirst  for justice, and we must fulfill their dream.  A small group came to  power with this main promise and shamelessly deceived everyone. We  will achieve the expected justice. The worthy and intelligent will  take their rightful place in the state system, regardless of  circumstances, connections, and wealth. We will not reject brave and  patriotic people, but, instead, will encourage and promote them. We  will give the youth the green light. We will not empty the state  budget for our personal gain, but will do the exact opposite, because  it is right,  fair, and necessary. Even at our own expense, we are  obliged to enrich our country. We will use the business connections  we have acquired over decades. 

"We are working in dozens of countries with the best and most  renowned companies in the world, enriching, building, and developing  the country. Our people and our state have many needs. Why have we  worked and earned money if not to meet these needs? For years, our  friendly United Arab Emirates has amazed the world with the pace of  its economic development. Now it's our time to amaze the world.   Secondly, Armenia must become a country of security and prosperity  for its citizens in every sense. The Armenian people have earned the  right to live well in their own country. We must leave behind the  fact that we had poor citizens. We will provide them with everything  they need. Those in need will have jobs and opportunities. There  should be no hungry or naked children in Armenia. There should be no  parents who lack money for medicine. I consider this a matter of my  honor," the businessman notes.

Moreover, according to him, it is impossible to talk about  development if a significant part of society suffers from various  debts, in particular, bank debts. "A person once took out a loan to  solve some current issue - to buy a car or an apartment, someone - to  celebrate the New Year. And he got into an endless cycle of debt.  Because of that the needs do not end, life becomes more expensive and  difficult, and incomes fall.  We will not leave these people alone  with their problem and together with banks and other credit  organizations we will find suitable solutions. I see and have ways to  solve these problems. Thirdly, Armenia has no right to have bad  relations with any neighbor or any superpower. We will stop the  policy of primitive slander and at the same time flattery, which is  shameful for us, Armenians. By establishing a crooked "friendship"  with Azerbaijan and Turkey, we will not have real peace, by plotting  against Russia, we will not feel secure in the region, by ignoring  the vital interests of Iran and Georgia, we will not have friends in  difficult times. Our peoples have long forgotten how to solve their  issues by maintaining good relations. We will do exactly that - we  will not  deny it, but will resolve issues peacefully and  professionally, to our advantage. Fourth, we must once again become a  large family, where everyone does their own thing and builds their  homeland in an atmosphere of true love and solidarity. After  eliminating this small group, we must eradicate hatred in Armenia,"  Samvel Karapetyan states.

He added that his vision of Armenia's future, in the broadest sense,  looks exactly like this. "Of course, I have more to say, but that's  not all. I will touch on these issues in the near future, in more  detail, and my colleagues from the 'In Our Way' movement will also  discuss this programmatically. But I have presented you with the most  important things, and I am confident that, when reflecting on the  image of the future, you will now be able to compare at least two  scenarios. One is the one we have been living in for over seven  years, and the other is the one you just read about. The choice is  yours. It is clear that one way or another, the future will come,"  Samvel Karapetyan believes.
