ArmInfo. The introduction of the Universal Health Insurance system will exacerbate income polarization, making the poor poorer and the rich richer. Mesrop Arakelyan, former Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia and co-founder of the "Country to Lice" party, shared this viewpoint.
"As is known, citizens earning 200,001 drams or more will pay 10,800 drams per month for insurance, regardless of their salary. Meanwhile, contributions to the "Zinap" Military Insurance Fund will be slightly reduced. As a result, when everyone pays the same amount regardless of their income-level, the burden on low-income people becomes heavier compared to high-income people. This is a classic example of social injustice, a defining characteristic of the current government's actions," he wrote on social media.
