ArmInfo. The issue of simplifying the process of obtaining EU entry visas for Armenian citizens is on the EU agenda, as stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a press-briefing with reporters in Hamburg.
"Yesterday in Berlin, we learned very important news. The German Ambassador to the Republic of Armenia stated that starting next year, there will be no more queues at the German Embassy," Pashinyan said. He added that work with the EU on this matter has been ongoing for quite some time. The Prime Minister continued, adding that Armenian citizens had to wait 10 months to obtain a visa. Now, the first positive signal has come from the German Embassy in the Republic of Armenia. Pashinyan expressed hope that this process will continue. The Prime Minister mentioned that the flow of tourists from Armenia to the EU has significantly increased in recent years, despite difficulties obtaining visas. Pashinyan emphasized that many Armenian citizens now prefer to travel to Rome, Berlin, and other European cities for the weekend, demonstrating an improvement in the quality of life. Pashinyan noted that, while air tickets were previously considered unaffordable due to their high cost, they can now be purchased for 35-50 euros, encouraging more frequent travel by Armenian citizens to Europe.
