


ArmInfo. New obstetric services will be introduced at Lori Region medical facilities. This was announced during a meeting between Armenian Deputy Minister of Health Armen Gasparyan and employees of the region's obstetric and pediatric services.
Specifically, it was noted that prenatal screening services for pregnant women and an assisted reproduction unit will soon become available on-site to Lori residents.
According to the Ministry of Health's press service, a pediatric surgical service is currently operating in the region, and work is underway to establish specialized pediatric services, as well as to launch a pediatric intensive care unit at the Vanadzor Medical Center. A pediatric rehabilitation service is also operating continuously at the Spitak Medical Center. According to the source, during the meeting, Gasparyan expressed dissatisfaction with the cesarean section rate in the region and gave corresponding instructions to reduce it.
According to the RA Statistics Committee, 1,867 babies were born in the Lori region from January to September, a 3.3% decrease from the same period last year.
