On December 8, the third joint sitting of the Foreign Relations Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia and the Foreign Relations Committee of the Parliament of Georgia co-chaired by Sargis Khandanyan and Nikoloz Samkharadze, was held in Tbilisi. The members of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the RA National Assembly, Maria Karapetyan and Lena Nazaryan, participated in the sitting.
According to the press service of the Armenian parliament, the parties emphasized the importance of holding sessions between the parliamentary committees of Armenia and Georgia in accordance with the Memorandum of Cooperation jointly signed in November 2022 and the deepening interparliamentary cooperation between the two countries. The current developments arising from the strategic relationship between Armenia and Georgia, as well as the details of the bilateral political, economic, and cultural partnership, were discussed.
The members of the two Committees also exchanged views on regional, economic, and political issues. The deputies of the RA National Assembly briefed their colleagues on the current status of the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the work being done to implement the Trump Path to International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) connectivity project.
