Karekin II may be detained right at  airport  to disrupt  Episcopal  Conference scheduled for December 10- 12: Pan-Armenian Council for   Preservation of  Armenian Apostolic Church

ArmInfo. There is a concern that attempts will be made to arrest or isolate Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II upon his return from Marseille on a papal visit,  right at the airport, as noted in a statement issued by the  Pan-Armenian Council for the Preservation of the Armenian Church.

The unleashed campaign against  the Armenian Church has escalated  into open hostility, reaching its  peak,." According to available information, another vile conspiracy  is brewing behind the scenes in the government. There is a concern  that an attempt will be made to arrest or isolate Catholicos of All  Armenians Karekin II upon his arrival from Marseille on a papal  visit, right at the airport.

The goal is one: to disrupt the Bishops' Conference, scheduled for  December 10-12, where vital issues for the country will be discussed  at any cost. This is a direct blow to our spiritual security and the  last bastion of national unity and resilience.  It is time to wake up  and stand up for our holy places. All faithful people and national  forces must support the Armenian Patriarch. We will gather today at  8:00 PM outside the VIP lounge at Zvartnots Airport.

We call on all worthy Armenians, intellectuals, public figures, and  concerned citizens to come and greet His Holiness. We must  demonstrate our unity and prevent unclean hands from touching the  Armenian Patriarch. Come and prove with your presence that the  Armenian Church is inviolable, and those who encroach upon it will  answer before history and the people. May God protect the Armenian  Church and our nation," the Council's statement reads.
