


ArmInfo.A concert of winners of the XXVII International Glinka Competition of Vocalists was held at the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall. The performance in the capital of Armenia is part of an unprecedented tour featuring the outstanding singer Albina Shagimuratova (chair of the competition jury) and the winners. The tour is currently taking place in various cities across Russia, as well as in Belarus, Turkey, and Kazakhstan.
The Glinka Competition, one of the main musical events organized in Russia in the last century, is now experiencing a revival, after several years of being forgotten. According to the press service of the National Philharmonic Orchestra, opera singers from Armenia have traditionally shone and won awards at the Glinka Competition, including such prominent names as Gegham Grigoryan (1975), Araks Davtyan (1979), and Barsegh Tumanyan (1979). The Glinka Vocal Competition has played a vital role in the development of many famous singers.
The concert in Yerevan on November 28 was a great success. According to the source, the concert featured Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Albina Shagimuratova and competition laureates Ivan Borodulin, Iosif Nikitenko, Miroslav Molchanov, and Danil Sakharov. Darya Gorozhanko, soloist of the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus, also took part in the concert.
