ArmInfo. "I just didn't want to run," Hrachya Hakobyan, an MP from the ruling Civil Contract party and the Armenian Prime Minister's brother-in-law, told reporters on December 2, when commenting on his non-nomination on the ruling party's list for the 2026 elections.
According to him, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan reacted to his decision quite normally. "There are no reasons, I'm simply taking a break from active politics. I'm not leaving politics; I'll remain a party member. I'll participate in party meetings, not as actively, but I'll still participate," Hakobyan noted. Hakobyan is uncertain about his future plans. However, he doesn't think he'll return to acting. When asked about the possibility of becoming the RA ambassador to any country, Hakobyan stated that there have been no talks on the matter. "There have been no discussions at all regarding my future activities," the MP emphasized.
It should be noted that Hakob Arshakyan, Kristine Poghosyan, and Khachatur Sukiasyan will also not be included on the ruling party's election list.
