ArmInfo. In October 2026, Yerevan will host the first international Chess Fest Armenia festival-a new, large-scale, open cultural and sporting event organized under the patronage of Levon Aronian, one of the most respected and influential grandmasters of our time. Among the festival's expected guests of honor are five-time World Champion Viswanathan Anand and Judit Polgar, the strongest female chess player in history.
"For the Armenian people, chess has always been more than a game-it is a way to think, create, and unite. Chess Fest Armenia will embody this spirit, inviting everyone to experience the joy and power of imagination that the game inspires," noted Grandmaster Levon Aronian. During the festival, Yerevan's parks and public spaces will be transformed into dynamic venues featuring simultaneous game sessions, concerts, storytelling, and performances, as well as interactive art installations. The program also includes a special "Chess for Kids" zone, and the festival will conclude with a gala awards ceremony.
A detailed program and list of partners will be published in early 2026 on the official website: www.armchessfest.com.
The festival is organized by Mediacrat Studio in partnership with Matena Business School, with the support of the Yerevan Municipality.
