Armenian Bishops` assembly emphasizes importance of  clergy  non-participation in  divisive actions of the Armenian authorities

ArmInfo.  Under the chairmanship of His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians, an assembly of Armenian Bishops and Diocesan Primates took place at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

According to the press office of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin,  the assembly discussed the recent deliberate omission of the names of  His Holiness Karekin II and the diocesan primate by certain clergy  during the Divine Liturgy. "The Episcopal Assembly condemned this  phenomenon, noting that from an ecclesiastical standpoint, it is  anti-canonical and may lead to schism. It was emphasized that such  actions are subject to the strictest punishment unless the clergyman  repents and corrects his anti-canonical path in the prescribed  manner. The Assembly emphasized the importance of  clergy not  participating in divisive actions and provocations, and  maintaining  a spirit of unity for the sake of stability and  further  strengthening of our Holy Apostolic Church," the Mother See's  statement reads.
