


ArmInfo. The strategic cooperation between Armenia and Greece was discussed during a meeting in Athens between Armenian Ambassador to the Republic Tigran Mkrtchyan and representatives of the Greece-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Greek Parliament.
According to the press service of Armenian embassy in Greece, the parties emphasized the important role of parliamentary diplomacy in this regard. They also noted the bridging role of the Armenian diaspora in strengthening relations between Armenia and their countries of residence, including Greece.
Mkrtchyan presented in detail the significance of the documents signed in Washington, the "Trump Path to Peace and Prosperity" project, and the role of the Crossroads of Peace initiative in this context. The Armenian diplomat emphasized Armenia's commitment to the peace process and also touched on Yerevan's desire to normalize relations with Ankara, which is vital for Armenia and the region.
The Head of the Friendship Group, Vasilis Ikonomou, in turn, noted that Armenia's dialogue with its neighbors is extremely important, and they hope that Armenia will succeed in establishing normal relations with Azerbaijan and Turkey. Friendship Group Secretary Ekaterini Notopoulou emphasized the importance of cooperation with diaspora structures and suggested holding a youth conference in her constituency of Thessaloniki.
The importance of activating parliamentary diplomacy and organizing reciprocal visits, including at the highest level, was emphasized.
