Supporter of "Mother Armenia" party abducted in Vagharshapat  -statement

ArmInfo.  In Vagharshapat, unidentified individuals first knocked down and then abducted  a supporter of the "Mother Armenia" party, Ono Harutyunyan, from the party's office, as reported by the party's press service..

At the time of the abduction, the blogger was with his girlfriend.  She reported that three cars pulled up to the party office, and a  group of five or six people attacked the blogger as he got out of his  car. "First, they knocked him to the ground and then dragged him into  the car. They introduced themselves as police officers, but they were  in civilian clothes and didn't show any identification," the girl,  whose words are quoted by the political force, said in confusion.  Gevorg Stepanyan, a member of the Council of Elders from the "Mother  Armenia bloc", said in a live broadcast on the party's page that the  blogger had been covering illegal actions by the Vasharshapat  municipality. He expressed his belief that the abduction could have  been organized by the ruling Civil Contract party. He recalled that  similar incidents occurred during the Yerevan Council of Elders  elections, when a member of the ruling party threatened to "throw  everyone down on the pavement." "That's the Civil Contract's style of  work. However, they won't scare anyone with this. This is all they  are capable of-to resort to illegal means, but in reality, it's a  manifestation of their fear," Stepanyan stated.
