ArmInfo. The Pan-Armenian Council for the Preservation of the Armenian Church has issued a statement dismissing reports that the Central Board of the Ramkavar- Azatakan party supports the Armenian authorities' anti-church campaign as disinformation. The Council's press service told ArmInfo.
It is noted that the statement has no connection to the party's official bodies or representatives.. "The Council expresses deep concern over the fact that the party's name is occasionally manipulated by self- proclaimed small groups without any authority or political or ideological responsibility. Such actions distort the image of the historic party and mislead the public," the statement reads.
In this regard, the Pan-Armenian Council for the Preservation of the Armenian Church reiterated that the party's true position remains one of respect and unwavering support for the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and His Holiness Catholicos Karekin II of All Armenians, as well as a commitment to the principle of national unity and the indivisibility of state and church. "Furthermore, the party rejects any divisive or discordant manifestations, whether in the ecclesiastical or political spheres, and supports constructive cooperation with all Armenian structures and communities in the interests of preserving national identity," the Council added. In light of the above, the Pan-Armenian Council urged the media and the public to rely solely on verified sources and not spread disinformation that could undermine the spiritual unity of the Armenian people. "We reaffirm our support for the conservative branch of the Ramkavar-Azatakan party, which consistently works toward national solidarity, strengthening the state, and preserving the authority of the Armenian Church," the Council concluded.
