Bayramov spoke about Macron`s "threats" to Azerbaijan and Erdogan`s  "critical" support during the 44-day war in Karabakh

ArmInfo.  Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov spoke about French President Emmanuel Macron's "threats" to Azerbaijan during the 44-day war in Karabakh.

"The French President repeatedly called and said: if the war does not  stop, we will recognize Nagorno- Karabakh. The immediate response  from Mr. President was: 'You can do it. It will not change anything  for us. He added that Azerbaijan would immediately sever all  diplomatic relations with France,'" Bayramov said speaking on the  program "Line of Contact." Meanwhile, according to Bayramov, the  support of Turkey and its leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan during the war  was critical. 

"In those days, a unified message was sent from Ankara to all Turkish  missions around the world. Turkish embassies were informed that  instructions coming from Baku were as valid as those from Ankara.  Turkish diplomats were instructed that if any order came from Baku,  they could carry it out without further coordination with Ankara,"  Bayramov noted.

At the same time, he continued, Baku never violated diplomatic  etiquette by directly contacting Turkish embassies abroad-all  contacts were conducted exclusively through the Turkish Foreign  Ministry. "This was an unprecedented decision in the history of world  diplomacy and a manifestation of genuine brotherhood, not in words  but in deeds," the head of the Azerbaijani foreign ministry added.
